Wellness oasis with great dining
The wellness facilities were excellent, and I savored every moment. The staff consistently were really good, and the restaurant served delicious meals that captured my taste buds. Definitely an experience to remember!
I did face some discomfort as the room temperature was hard to adjust, and the sliding glass door in the bathroom lacked privacy-something that might be challenging for families. Nonetheless, it didn't overshadow the positives.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Van der Valk Hotel Assen. The room was very comfortable and luxurious. The shower was a dream come true. Breakfast was superb, we have never had such a good breakfast anywhere else. We would wholeheartedly recommend Van der Valk.
There is nothing negative to say abour the hotel. It was excellent.

We've spent 90 days traveling throughout 18 countries in Europe staying most nights in hotels for no more then one or two days at a time and Van der Valk was definately one of the better ones. So no real complaints.

It was just a balanced option for a couple of nights in Assen with good price value. The breakfast buffet had a fantastic selection that gave me plenty of energy for the day ahead. If you plan to charge meals to your room, ensure they check your credit card status at check-in.

I thought that the restaurant was very good, for breakfast but especially dinner. the staff were very friendly.
I would prefer a bar of soap instead of soap dispenser.

Be prepared for noise disturbances from the highway if your room faces that direction, which may disturb your sleep during the night.

Loved this pet-friendly hotel, would recomand. Fairly large and immaculately clean venue, location was absolutely perfect and magnificent close to the restaurant for dinner, city centre and the outskirts of Assen.
